Show hidden files on your Mac.
Any files that starts with a period are hidden on a Mac, such as .htaccess and .htpasswd. Not sure why Mac OS don't include this on/off feature in the view finder.
First, open your Terminal program located in the Utilities folder.
Second, activate show all files with this command:
Third, restart your finder with this command:
To revert back to the default setting:
And then restart finder:

defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
Third, restart your finder with this command:
killall Finder
To revert back to the default setting:
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
And then restart finder:
killall Finder
